Sober Living in St. Paul Minnesota is a transitional housing program for people who are in need of a place to live but are not yet ready or able to move into an apartment or other type of rental housing. What makes Sober Living in St. Paul distinct is the focus on finding and keeping permanent supportive housing while working on becoming sober. The transitional housing program also offers the client a chance to find employment with opportunities for career advancement and serves as an introduction to the services that are offered by various residential treatment facilities. The transitional living program started in 2021 and has assisted over 500 clients in getting off of drugs and alcohol. The Sober Living in St. Paul program offers a variety of options, including both so-called “sober” living apartments and transitional living houses. Sober Living in St. Paul offers rooms or suites that are equipped to provide comfortable living for clients with varying degrees of substance abuse problems, including bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders and other mood disorders. Clients in need of treatment for substance abuse can move into a room or suite that offers a safe environment, as well as therapy and support for them as they work toward recovery. One of the transitional living program’s primary goals is to get individuals out of the cycle of alcohol and drug addiction that usually gets them into trouble in the first place. When an individual moves into a Sober Living program, he is given the opportunity to live in a transitional living house instead of staying in an apartment. This way, the client is able to gradually move away from his substance abuse problem, while at the same time, maintain some independence. The transitional house also offers support for the client’s transition to sobriety, such as phone calls, job training and group activities. In addition, the client can also go to meetings or attend group counseling sessions, which are organized by the center. This type of program enables the client to slowly and steadily remove himself from his harmful environment and ultimately find permanent sobriety.
