Learn More about Sober Living in Indiana

A transition program is a great option for people who have experienced a change in their life and want to transition to a new lifestyle. This program is an ideal solution if you are looking for temporary living arrangements until you find a permanent place of your own. As, well as the traditional benefits that come with being a resident of a residential care facility including: good healthcare, group therapy and assistance with day-to-day personal hygiene, Sober Living also offers residents the option to apply for a transition program. With this program, you will be given a lease on a Sober Living halfway house in the Indianapolis area until you find a permanent place of your own. The transitional living program provides many of the benefits of a residential care facility, but without the need to make daily house calls or move in with strangers every day. Instead, residents of a transitional living program will enjoy the advantages of living in a quiet, secluded environment with their own semi-private bedroom and bath. The Sober Living program offers transition services for just about every type of need. They offer transition services for individuals with special needs, such as mentally challenged individuals, substance abusers, elderly individuals and those with developmental disabilities, as well as individuals who are at a risk for returning to crime or drug abuse. These transition programs provide customized supportive housing options so that each client can get the support they need while in transition to their new environment. As well as offering services such as shelter, case management and legal assistance, transition services are made available in a variety of environment settings, including transition houses and halfway houses throughout the state of Indiana. Some of the population groups supported by the Sober Living program include single parents, teenagers and young adults, and people who have recently been incarcerated. Many young adults have to leave behind their family and friends when coming to a new city or a new state, and face many unique problems that they may not have considered before moving away from their families. Some of the unique issues that young adults may face include isolation, loneliness, feeling like they are losing touch with their own identity or even feeling like they are losing control of their lives. In an effort to give these young adults some support and help, the State of Indiana has a number of programs designed to provide housing and other services to help these young people. The transition centers also provide educational, employment and mentoring opportunities for the young adults, as well as job training and career development.
