Located just north of San Francisco, sober living in San Mateo, CA includes a wide variety of programs and services for people who have found themselves unable to live an active lifestyle due to problems within their own relationships. Whether you need help to overcome drug or alcohol addiction or need help transitioning to a new career, there is a solution available to you. The mission of the sober living program is to provide an environment that will help individuals begin to develop new behaviors and skills while helping them to overcome habits and patterns that got them into trouble in the first place. Some of the solutions offered include: Individual therapy and/or group therapy, spiritual support, art and music therapy, yoga and meditation, nutritional counseling, and many other options. All of these solutions are designed to help individuals learn how to live a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition, improving their physical and mental health, developing positive relationship skills, and how to overcome addiction. The transitional living home is a residential treatment center for emotionally and physically ill people. People who have been through a crisis and show the ability to adapt may be eligible for admission into one of the transitional living homes. In most cases, the transitional living home is attached to a full-fledged facility. When you meet with the director, you should ask about the services offered and whether or not you would require some of the following services. These services would include: detoxification services, individual therapy and/or group therapy, nutritional counseling, art and music therapy, yoga and meditation, social activities and leadership development, and daily support. If you have had trouble making changes in your life and are interested in living on a more sober schedule, you may want to consider moving into a transitional house. Many of the transition houses in San Mateo are not only clean, but they are staffed by trained professionals who are there to help you every step of the way. You should keep in mind that, as with any residential treatment center, there are often cost considerations. However, you should compare costs with other programs based on the severity of your situation and the length of time you plan to live in your halfway house.
